Surgery Plan

Dr. Price will be performing the surgery. They will take Jack at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, and the surgery will start at 10:30 a.m. It is a 6-8 hour surgery. 8 p.m. -- Minor change in the plan. Jack will now be taken at 6:30 a.m. and the surgery is scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. So, it will still be a long day, but they could be finished by early to mid-afternoon, instead of late afternoon. Tammy didn't feel this had anything to do with any change in Jack, but probably simply an opening in the schedule. Start praying a little earlier! It appears to be the most common type of brain tumor found in children and also appears to be totally contained. It will take approximately 1 week to get the official results of what type of tumor it is and to determine treatment after surgery, if any. Be praying for Dr. Price and her hands and knowledge, pray for Rob, Tammy, and Elaine as they prepare Jack for this scary time. Pray for any travelers that are headed there.

There has been some confusion about the MRI from this morning -- that was to rule out any tumors on his spine. There is a tumor at the base of his brain stem that he will have removed tomorrow, but there are no additional tumors on his spine. Sorry for the confusion.

Also, since Rob and Tammy are both not working this week AND this will be a huge financial burden, Southern Hills has set up a fund for the family. You may make a check out to Southern Hills Church of Christ and put 'Jack Marcelain Fund' in the memo.

I hope you guys know that you are loved and that I wish I could be there to hug and love on you. God is the Great Healer! I will pray that the doctor's hands are guided by God in the morning. Love ya,

There are many prayers being lifted to the Father on behalf of Jack and family. Keep them going!

Just one of the many prayers being offered:

Dear Lord, We thank you that we have you in our lives. We could not make it through times like this without you. You give us strength to press on when we couldn't otherwise. When we can't walk on our own, you carry us. Please carry Rob & Tammy tonight as they press in to you. They are holding your hand, closing their eyes and entrusting it all to you -who holds everything in the palm of your hand. Pour out your Spirit on them tonight that they will feel your presence, peace and love. Bless Jack with your peace that he will not be afraid. Fill him with your perfect love and drive out all fear. Lord, our desire and request is that you would perform the surgery tonight and remove what does not belong, because you are the best physician. If you choose to work through the surgeons, please steady and guide their hands tomorrow and make all that does not belong easy to remove without any trouble. Put a special covering and shield over Jack's body and head and keep him perfectly safe. Preserve all functions of his body, keeping perfectly to the blueprint that you created for him. We come before you, not as beggars, but as your children and we thank you in advance for healing Jack and carrying him and his family through this time. We will give you the glory (and give you glory even now) for your wonderful works - all of which declare to the world, your Love, Power, Mercy, Grace, Wisdom, Strength, and Victory!

In Jesus' Name, Amen
