What are you cooking when it turns cool?

What's Up???!!! I have been you tubing because there is some great stuff out there. I have been working on my computer for about 2 days straight, which means that my back and body are barking at me today. So I am taking a day away from the computer to get some other stuff done, like clean my house.

Last night I was tidying the kitchen while Derek was practicing his alto saxophone. I just almost cried. He is a beginner, sounds like a beginner, but I think he sounds wonderful and it is amazing to me that one of my kids is playing an instrument and can follow notes. This is not something I ever learned and feel completely inept musically. I had visions of his first performance with me blubbering in the first row, with the video camera.

Nothing major going on around here. Feel like baking because of all this cool weather. It is glorious. When it turns cool what is the first thing you like to cook or bake. Main dish or dessert, Chilli or pumpkin bread, help a sista out.....

We like cooking lasagna and monster chocolate chip cookies. We only do it in the cold weather because it heats up the house so much! Ow, I think I just decided what we will have for supper!

Yeah, we lean towards soups when it turns cold, and I LOVE the creamy varieties -- you know the kind that help you pack on that insulation to keep your rear warm for the winter?

OOOH --- my cheesy enchilada soup that you like, I have an awesome baked potato soup, tortilla soup, you name it! I'm ready!

I make a lovely roast in the crock pot or on the stove complete with roasted variety of whatever I have on hand vegies in the oven (425 for 30-45 mins). Then with leftovers I do a yummy stew with the left over roast liquid. I love making breads as well pumpkin, cranberry orange, zucchini etc... Love baking in the cooler weather and sharing so I do not have to gain all the weight myself. Share the calories around ;)

Bread...soup....cookies for the grandchildren. The sweet smells and the warmth from the oven make a fall day full of memories. Enjoy your cooler days! Hugs, B

Beef stew and cornbread is one of the first things I make when it gets cold. This weekend my sister made some pumpkin bread muffins from the www.pioneerwoman.com/cooking... very entertaining website with wonderful recipes.

OOPS, the pumpkin muffins weren't from that website, but check it out for other recipes.
