The Light

Some of you readers know my story. Some have just stopped by recently.
Everyone at some point in their lives has walked through some forks in the road. One single change of direction can change your whole life. When I was 23 I had a day, the big fork in the road day. The day that I fell out of my bed with the hot Arizona sun pummeling through the windows and me crying and asking God to lift me from my messy life filled with too much of everything. He did and my life has never been the same from that day on. Because that day is SO special to me, the day that I asked for grace and mercy and God rained it down on me, the day that I learned what it felt like to be truly aware of my frailties, truly aware of my inadequacies, truly aware of my sin, and truly aware of how it felt to be forgiven and completely and utterly loved by God. Because of the memories of that day I asked a friend, T.M. Gand, to create a canvas painting for me. She and I talked about the details over coffee, then she went with it from there. I received my painting about two weeks ago, but today she sent me the digital print, so I can share it with you. This is my day of redemption. She called the painting "The Light."

Tracy's work is amazing. I knew that it was she that I wanted to paint this canvas for me. She uses bold colors and texture. Her work is very fun and bright. She is always open at Artwalk and her studio is around the corner from mine, in the Cockerell Building Downtown on N. 2nd. She has been featured in print, and has made a great name for herself because of the quality of her work. Be sure and stop by her studio to check out what she is working on currently during the next Artwalk.

THAT is amazing!! Not exactly how I had the image in my head of that day as you have told it, but so beautiful and conveys so much with that painting. Wow. Kudos to that talented artist...
