So we do have to go, "there."

Updates on Jack
My last post I wrote the options about what could happen to Jack's tumor. I didn't even let my mind go "there" but now we have arrived to "that" place.
Jack's mri was yesterday, today was clinic. Our neurosurgeon, Dr. Price, along with an oncologist, Dr. Bowers, came in to tell me that Jack's fragments of tumors left from the surgery are growing at a very fast rate. There was a grouping of abnormal cells (next to the tumor that was for the most part removed back in April), that grouping of cells has turned into a tumor also. So we are looking at starting chemotherapy in the next 2 weeks. Hopefully we will be able to be here for that, if not we will have to drive to Dallas. Cooks Hospital has a facility here that can give chemo treatments to kids, but as Jack is a patient from Children's I don't know how that will work out. We will hopefully find out the plans over the next couple of business days.
Dr. Bowers said that the course of this chemotherapy will last from 15-18 months.
What this new picture looks like to me I have no clue. I don't know what to even think about this.
One thing Dr. Bowers said was that he thinks of chemotherapy as medicine that makes tumors go away. That is what we are counting on. He also said that this type of tumor does generally react well to chemo. So our journey has taken another turn. I don't know where the road goes, but I know on this journey Jack will have Rob and I, and all the rest of our family, church family, and friends walking alongside. I might have a stream of tears falling, but that does not mean that I am not faithful that God is in control, but grieving for what Jack must now enter as a 6 year old.

Dear Marcelains,

Our hearts are heavy with the news that Jack will be going down the chemo journey. However, you are correct, your church family will go with you. We love you all so much and have carried you in our hearts from the first day of this hard time until this moment. We will continue to ask that the Father strengthen you, give you wisdom and patience, and that Jack will be given full healing and the eradication of the tumor.

Much love from the Warehouse!

God bless you all.

hey tammy,
everyone that has written has auwsome words of advice, i have few, and they have already been spoken by others. but i know me adn the bakery s have the whole fam in our prayers. i did learn something interesting in one of my nursing classes that may be of some help later on. before jack goes to chemo, its not a bad idea to feed him, cause he's not gonna want to eat later. but the important thing is what to feed him, kids don't alwasy understand why they dont feel good, if there tummy hurts they think its something that they ate, so when your eating the day of the chemo, introduce a new food, for instance, have burgers and fries and a coke, but for desert give him a random desert he has never had. that way when he comes back and he feels bad, you can always say well i guess we won't have that desert again. because most children think its the regular food, adn stop eating, makeing the situation worse. we think the world of you guys, your in our prayers.

Oh no! That is NOT what any of us wanted to hear! Thank God for chemo, for strength, for courage, and for a the support He provides and the church He has given you. We will continue to pray for all of you. We have been down the road of chemo ourselves and can tell you that while it is difficult, we look back and see many many blessings that we received during the process -- including an incredible testimony of God's faithfulness.

Know we are with you each step of the way and will keep you all in prayer.
