Leave it to me to start an entire blog when I have virtually nothing to write! I have created this blog to be a place to keep church family updated, as well as allow your comments to Rob, Tammy, Jack, Sophie, and DJ to let them know how much we love them and are praying for them.
All I do know is that last week Tammy was concerned about Jack's eye turning in on occasion. Thursday afternoon, she said, "Yeah, I should call the Dr. about that." Next thing I know, Jack is scheduled for an MRI for Monday morning! The Dr. called Tammy this afternoon and had she and Rob come back to the office, where she (the Dr.) broke down, and said there was a 'fairly large' tumor in Jack's brain, and it looked to be a good possibility that it had been there a while. Dr. Garcia called the neurologist at Children's Medical Center in Dallas and he was going to meet them in the emergency room this evening.
A chartered plane was provided the Marcelains and this afternoon several of us saw them off. We hugged, we cried, and we prayed. Tammy mentioned that about once a week Jack asks, "Mommy, when do I get to ride on an airplane?" The good news is, he was definitely ready to enjoy the ride. He feels well, and only knows that another dr. is going to do more tests (but he doesn't want any more shots!) Rob, Tammy, Elaine (Rob's mom), and Jack(obviously!) were all going.
They finally took off about 6:00 p.m. So, that means they have probably seen a doctor by now. I, personally, am praying that they look at the Dallas results and say, "What tumor?" And, of course, I'm praying for all involved -- Sophie and DJ especially -- to be at peace. Rob's sister, Tamara is in town, staying at the Marcelain's house and keeping up with the kids (although she has a 4 year old and 4 month old of her own!)
As I hear more, I'll post more -- until then, keep the prayers going!

We are all keeping you in our prayers and calling on all prayer warriors we know near and far to lift up precious Jack.
Please let us know of anything we can do to help out in this time.
All the Smysers
Each of you have blessed the family at SHCC in numerous ways. Tammy with your work with the children, Rob with the giving and insightful heart working with the men, and the smiling faces of your children you have taught your servant attitude.
Now we offer our prayers for Jack and your family and any other means of support we can offer. Please allow us to serve you as you have served all of us daily.
Leon, Janet, Nate and Jared.
I know you think your world is crumbling around you right now, but God is SO POWERFUL. He will lift you up and send His angels to surround you all and bless you. The enemy is attacking because he sees the strength of our body, but all the constant prayers will turn him away. WE WILL WIN! Remember that and know that we are all there with you cheering you on! I love you all so much. God bless you with the peace that passes all understanding.
My sister and husband, Jody and John Gibbs, are in Fort Worth, retired, and would be glad to come do anything you need. You've met them. Her cell phone: 817-706-6031.
I love you all.

Lord, please bless Jack and Tammy & Rob with a special portion of your peace and strength right now. Please touch Jack with your powerful hand and take away everything that does not belong. Please restore his body to complete and perfect health and take away all affects from this so that there will be no trace of any of these problems in his body. Please replace all abnormal cells with perfect, normal cells. If you should work through doctors and surgeons, please carefully guide their hands. We believe in your power to heal. Lord, we believe in your willingness to heal Jack in this situation. We thank you for touching him and we give you glory for what you have done. You are good and great. Help us to continue to trust, believe, and hold on to you. Thank you for your mercy and grace.
In Jesus' Name, Amen
Although I don't know you personally, your loyal friend Robyn has shared Jack's illness with me. You are in my prayers and thoughts today. Our God knows your hurts as parents and loves you so much. May He uphold you today and give you strength. May He wrap his loving arms around you and bring you comfort. In Jesus name.

I work with your grandad in Kyrgystan, he is a very special man and we all love and respect him very much. He told us about you and what is happening to you. I have four boys ranging in age from 15 to 1 year old and they love to play and fool arround, they love their computers and videos and DVDs and all that stuff. I guess that you will be much like them and that being arround you will be as much fun as being arround them. My whole family are praying for you to get better (and there a lots of us) so that you can do all the good stuff you used to do with you parents and siblings and especially with your grandad. He is always smiling and makes everybody here happy. Just now that smile is gone, you make sure you get well so that he can get his smile back. I will be checking the reports to see how you are doing and watching for your grandad's smile. There is a whole world of prayer out there at the moment and all for you, so get better and give us all a reason to smile again.
I am a friend of your grandfather and if you are half the fighter as he is, then it is certain you will be fine. I hope you and your family will be well and have peace of mind during this scary time. All of you are in my prayers each morning and night. Chris Phillips
We pray for you all day long, for Jack, and Sophie and DJ and all the rest of your family. We are so glad to see all the love and support you are receiving. You have so many people who love you. I know your mother is watching over this situation very closely. You are all so special to us. I am sure that Becky already told you that Jack is also on the Gateway Church of Christ prayer list. May God bless and comfort you, and give you wisdom and strength to persevere. We love you, Charlie and Sue Rhineheimer, Chandler, AZ
